You're having a minor surgery that's going to keep you in bed resting for 3-4 days and borrow a long ethernet cable at work so you can use your laptop in bed to watch anime fansubs & DVDs. (To be fair the cable I did have broke and I can't get a replacement at a reasonable price before the surgery this Friday.)

I have wireless hooked up, and actually spend most of my net time in bed anyway ^^;

(whats bad is that the wireless router is only about a meter from my bed anyway...)

Hmm how about:

- Your mp3 player has nothing but anime op/ed and you did think it's strange to put any english songs in it.
- Your tempted to buy PS2 imported anime based games even though you know you won't understand a word of it.

Like the Eva game that came out earlier this year that I bought.....

I still really can't figure out what to do in that game lol.

I have a few of those - the first Negima game (be meaning to get the second - it was pretty good fun), RahXephon (very like Zone of the Enders, but with adventure bits with scary amounts of voice dialogue), all three Gunslinger Girl games (shooter, admittedly), three Full Metal Alchemist games (two of the Squenix ones, plus the tag team fighter Bandai released), Macross (neat but short flight sim thing by Sega), two Naruto fighters, one One Piece, Initial D, one of the Prince of Tennis games, My-HiME (not vaguely surprising that one) and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting...

Let see, I have the 1st and 2nd Fullmetal games, 1 GC and 2 PS2 Naruto games, My-Hime, oh and every single Super Robot Taisen games for PS2 and PS1. You gotta love the Eva01 and Eva02 combo attack or Rei's N2 attack Very Happy . I might give Negima a try but I really didn't like the anime ver. in the 1st place....

I have one of the GC Naruto games as well, but I was only thinking of the PS2 games I have. I've not tried any of the Super Robot Taisen games, though (I've also got a great pile of Sakura Taisen games, but those were games first).

Game Negima != Anime Negima. Konami didn't even use the same character designs - the ones for the games are much nicer, to be honest.

The Super Robot Taisen games are great fun if you love mecha anime. You get to use all those cool attacks from the shows lol. Like Dance like you want to win or Asuka's AT field attack from the movie. Or having Freedom with meteor pack mass attack or the huge beam saber slice Razz . Newest GBA one has Full Metal Panic AS's in it. Bonta-kun is a playable mecha in it. Laughing

Should be Super Robot Taisen J.

I just saw a preview of it when I was looking around for info for Super Robot Taisen Alpha 3 2 months back. It is listed as 09/15/05 so it should be out there.

I'm not that bad, I have a Christmas playlist (yes I'm listening to Christmas music already, but it's been on there since last year) and a sountracks one that has orchestral soundtracks from movies (like Star Wars and Star Trek for example) and Broadway musical soundtracks. Smile

I haven't gone that far but I did grab the image of the Futakoi PS2 game and injected it on my PS2's hard drive to try (I have the HD Loader disc). Matthew was nice enough to find me a walkthrough and told me how to figure out what to do to get each twins' endings. The walkthrough was in Japanese but it was easy enough to pattern match the choices when they came up and choose the one indicated. I started it and was enjoying it, listened really carefully and understood a bit here and there along with the images for context. I never did get back to it, I need to try, I want to see Sara & Souju's ending as well as Lulu & Lala's ending. Smile

Kill Angels and whine about it.

No, no, no, you have it all wrong! First you're supposed to freak out in the cockpit and be utterly useless until you run out of power. Then you freak out when the angel comes to kill you until your Eva unit suddenly goes berserk on its own (with no power) and slaughters the angel ruthlessly while you watch shrieking in terror.

Once you wake up in the hospital you start whining about it. Wink

What about watching it twice, once because the fan service distracted you part way through despite your really trying to follow the subtitles and once to see the parts you missed of each? Wink

Laughing I actually have a wireless router I've converted into an access point but the wireless card I got with the laptop freezes windows up when I plug the card in. (Actually I'm not 100% certain the wireless router will function as a proper access point yet because of this. It's slighly damaged, the WAN port is toast but the LAN ports are fine. I edited the routing table to get it to route to the real gateway on the LAN so it should work....) The laptop and card were a hand-me-down gift from a good friend of mine so I can't complain. Smile Since the ethernet cable reached I didn't bother buying a new wireless card. Very Happy

I felt sorry for Shinji actually, he'd gone through a lot of bad stuff and his Dad forcing him to pilot the Eva with no warning or explanation was just fucking evil. Shocked

I think we've established the point that Eva is meant to be totally messed up.

At least he gets to live with a penguin.

I think the penguin's the only sane one in the show. Wink

I still need to see the movies, I've read about them so I know that version of the ending (which helped me understand a bit what in the hell the last two TV episodes were trying to show, they still sucked.) I think I ran across a copy of End of Evangelion and downloaded it, probably should watch it. Smile

I maintain that the technicians in the NERV control room were sane. Razz

- you have seriously considered moving to another country (the US) just to save on shipping charges for buying anime, even though it would mean leaving all your friends and family behind.

umm....the don't you mean moving to Japan? The shipping charges aren't that much better.

-you start recognizing the VA's in the new anime that came out, and you can't get their old image out of your mind.

example: you love Athrun in GS/D, and then you watch Erementar Gerad and you notice that Coud has the same VA, but he plays Coud differently and you can't stop thinking "Athrun!!"

^btw, that's a true example ^__^
