Are you sure it's wise trying to make your mouse get all kinky to satisify its desires? Wink

On a totally unrelated note, the laptop a friend gave me is working again. I was able to resurrect it with a repartition/reformat/reinstall. Annoyingly Toshiba doesn't see fit to put up a video driver for this model (and my friend still hasn't located the restore discs) but I managed to get it working propely by essentially lying to Windows and picking the chose my own driver option. It only presented me with Trident card drivers (the actual card's a CyberALLADIN-T, never heard of that before) and the first one I tried worked! Prior to that you couldn't even scroll a page in IE without the video jerking around. Now it'll play most fansubs (it's not powerful enough for HD ones though) and DVDs. Can't actually play DVD+Rs from the drive but I have a network and lots of storage on the desktops to get around that. Very Happy

The wireless card is a no-go but I'll get a new one next month. Smile In the meantime I had an ethernet cable long enough to reach my bedroom so I can still go watch anime in bed with it if I want. Razz It's also going to work with me a few days next week while I sit in a closet on one of our sites and do a clean install/update of a server. Damned if I'm going to sit there with nothing to do while I wait for updates to download! From past experience it'll take two days because our bandwidth is nearly used up during business hours. Sad

(Oh yes and it's unrelated because it doesn't have a mouse, only an annoying touchpad. Wink )

Can't you just buy a spare mouse off of someone for $5?

Here in our Uni, I can't seem to find any separately established anime clubs. Made me envious when I heard that your respective schools have one and ours don't. Crying or Very sad

Our Uni, though, does have a club for "all things Japanese", and it's called, Nihon Kenkyu Kai. Everything from festivals, to customs, even to things like anime and manga are incorporated in it.
Wish I could join though... and share what I know of anime.

Nope, haven't heard from Ten. Sad

Our university has numerous Chinese clubs, oddly... of which none I have joined. Why so many?

Thanks for the concern, everyone. Phew. I'm back, sort of. I was able to get home last night but the internet connection was down for most of the day today. Argh.

The hurricane wasn't as bad as it was predicted, although it did hit other places. Unfortubnately, tt'll probably take a few more days before things become normal around the city. We're still seriously lacking of gas. I'm only down to less of a quarter of a tank. *sigh*

BTW, it's a 'her' not a 'him'. ^^;;

Is there some sort of 'trend' that acted as some kind of 'catalyst' (read: reason) for the clubs to be created?

(reading into too much Chemistry)

I had the same problem yesterday. Too many people downloading stuff from the Internet, with a single "central" ISP handling all the traffic, causing its servers to overload.. oi...

My one professor calls it too much racial diversity... in the sense that it's all over the place and isn't concentrated, so it's really superficial and not really "serious cultural discourse." Or something like that.

Shipping 10 kg from Germany... wonder how much that'd cost.

True but I would suspect many of the clubs puposes aren't about being serious but doing things fun with others who enjoy similar things. Smile

Unless you live in Germany probably way too much. Shocked

Here's an UPS shipping estimator you can try, if you can get it to accept a city/zip combo for Germany, it seems pretty particular (I used one for a valid company and it still didn't like it!)

But it's 10 kg of Goddess goodies. Crying or Very sad Danggit.

Okay, time to go the moyism route.

I know one of the Asian club advisors. He never goes to their meetings. Who knows what they do?

Better check to see if there's room at the poorhouse for you to move in afterwards. Wink

Do many advisors ever bother attending much if at all? I got the impression most just sign on as advisors and rarely participate.
