Um... it's been a while, but is it Emperor Qian Long, circa late 1700s?

Ack. Everybody's going insane with panic here in Houston. There should be a big hurricane coming to town and with the Katrina aftermath, the reaction is very understandable. But since I've lived in Manila for more than half my life, flood doesn't really scare me at all. Still, I find it very strange for the groceries running out of drinkable water supply because of the panic buying. Maybe I'm too laid back . I understand being prepared but the mad rush is ridiculous. *sigh*

Anyhow, I'm assigned to the ride-out team at work. We have to stay there when the hurricane arrives. This is one of those days where I wish I were working in outpatient instead of inpatient. Oh, well. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully, there wouldn't be major damages.

Are they sold out of water filters? You should get one of those.

I meant so that he could rely on sources of water besides bottled.

I recall if you boil water (not stagnant), run it through a filter, and maybe add a bit of chemicals (don't recall which ones) you should be okay.

Of course, my Red Cross and Boy Scout days were ages ago...

We have water filters at home so it's cool. So I've been pouring water over any containers I could find. Hee. Anyhow, it seems that we're running out of gas down here. The groceries are running out of canned goods and water. A lot of people are evacuating. It's kinda weird and almost surreal.

I'm expecting to stay at the hospital over the weekend, starting friday evening, once the hurricane hits. It'll be mostly a skeleton crew for the staff. I was even told that we won't be admitting patients starting tomorrow. The freaky panic attacks that permeates in the city is beginning to seep through my calm demeanor. I'll probably be a mess by Friday morning. >_<

Well, best of luck, and I wish it will all come down to nothing in the end. Take care in any case. :X

Ten: Yup, keep yourself safe over there. I can kinda relate because yup, Manila is still flood-prone. Three years ago we were flooded up to one story high! Thank goodness we have a second floor, but cleaning up afterwards was hard work.

We were flooded 'only' because of dirty drainage, it's a shallow but frustrating reason. The mayor was kind enough to fix it, so no heavy floods ever since... but... it's been raining lately, and we can notice slight flooding again... due to the same old reason. Arrgh...

That name sounds familiar, I believe that's the one I was talking about. Smile
