I'll make a sign that says:

"If you know Moyism, do a jig!"

Wait, they banned signs in the con this year, right?

Crying or Very sad

Just almost gave in to go to Otakon. However, currently spending trends and my lack of cash stopped me. Plus I didn't feel like making the trip to Baltimore. Instead chose to still go to work though I could have taken off since like all my other coworkers are going/at Otakon. heh.

TA, you should really do that "If you know Moy, do a jig!" sign since at least two of my co-workers should be there this weekend. It'll be hilarious if you actually happen to run into them!

Alright, any bloggers going to Otakon 2006?

Or am I it this year? Sad

I'm going. Err, I'm already here actually. Maybe I'll bump into you if you have that sign ""If you know Moyism, do a jig!". Maybe I'll post something in the BB.

I'm wearing a grey Totoro face shirt from J-List along with khakis and a blue backpack. CiouNoi is wearing the blue Totoro shirt as well.

I'll try to post the sign on the bulletin board as well.

BTW, the HLJ booth people are really cool.

hahaha, if you sincerely do the sign please take a photo!

Oh yea, what "extra goodies" does HLJ's booth give you, if any, as quoted on their site:

"Come Shake Our Hand...and we may put something back in yours! HLJ will be attending both Otakon (Aug 4-6, Baltimore, MD), and the IPMS USA Nationals (Aug 2-5, Kansas City, MO). Come see us and our piles of brand-new and hard-to-find stuff in the dealer halls and we'll most likely give you a little something to say thanks!"

I went to HLJ and complained about the lack of Belldandy. They gave me no free swag and said that they express shipped an entire bunch of the new Belldandy PVCs but they all sold out very quickly.

I did take a picture of the sign, but apparently I hung it up too late to do much good.

Pictures of goods soon to come. I actually did not overspend.

There was only one thing that I really lusted after in the HLJ booth. It was the Voltes V fig which costs $190. Ugh, I was so close to grabbing it. Thank gawd, my brain automatically computed how many manga and artbooks that entails. Heh.

i didn't really spend too much time in the dealer's room. also, I mostly bought some artbooks and a handful of manga. I'm surprised at how well II managed to control the impulsive shopping.

Oh, I tried to post a couple of signs on the BB but it got taken down. =(

I controlled the impulsive shopping... to a degree. Oh well, maybe next year. There wasn't that much unusual or uncommon stuff.

I did take a picture of the sign I wanted to put up. Next year, more of us bloggers should go and have a blogger meet and whine about the food at the Easy Wok.

Ten, did you see the $5 manga dealer? I got a lot of Rurouni Kenshin manga there.

(oh wait, that's what I forgot to add to the anime purchases thread)

I'll probably go next year too. So yes, a blogger meet would be good. i wonder if I bumped into any of you in the panels I went.

It took me gazillion amounts of self control to stay away from that dealer. I mostly shopped for the untranslated manga. I almost cried with joy when I realize how much cheaper it is without the shipping charges. Why can't where I live have a decent manga bookstore? Argh.

Hey TA, did you go to the ADV panel? I don't know if it is just me but they have the most annoying panel, ever. Maybe they simply rubbed me the wrong way, especially the dude hogging the mic. I had the urge to stranggle him.

I only went to the second one, though. I heard they had three.

BTW, I heard HLJ's "extra" was a slightly better discount than norm.

I did quite a nice Irish jig.

We really need to get a blogger meet together sometime. Watch us all get sloshed and find our credit cards maxed out the next morning... and random Belldandy stuff in our mailboxes the next week.

Actually, I thought all the panels I went to sucked. I didn't get into any of the really popular ones. 4chan, etc. etc. were all mobbed. Apparently they had to close some panels due to AIDS (yes, a 4chan meme, I'm weird).

The humidity was really terrible all weekend. It's scary that the girls start smelling as bad as the men. I was surprised that there was no medical emergency.

I heard a rumor that the big gaping hole under the Charles Street stairs was related to an abduction attempt... WTF?

Hey Ten and TA, you two wouldn't happen to know what song is playing in the background of this clip would you?

No idea. I also generally tried to stay away from that particular lobby because of the massive crowd there. Too many cosplay photo shoots, dancing people, musical artists, lines for big video room, etc.
