Well, I do it on break, so it's not exactly considered "slacking off while on duty."

I work for a K-12 school system, while I'm based in central office and rarely around the kids you can understand why reading something like Ichigo 100% might get me fired, or or off break, especially since I control the servers and network stuff.... Smile

Ah, I see. Gotta set a good example for those kids, eh? Wink

Hey, if it's not lifeguarding, I'll probably take the job...

I'm in the fast food business for the summer. Contrary to popular opinion, I find the job quite interesting. I love to watch people interact with each other, even if it means having a low and menial job...

How do I stay sane? Uh... employees get free drinks from the soda fountain, so I imbibe an unhealthy amount of Barq's in my free time. I also spend quite some time dodging the stray french fries that fellow workers lob at my head. When your coworkers are mainly teenage guys who want nothing more than to get out of the burger slop and go get drunk, one learns to put up with abuse.

Ironically, I think sandwich engineers get paid more than lifeguards.

Do you work at Burger King? I hear they have those giant inflatable Darth Vaders now...

On nights like tonight it is tough to stay sane at my job. I work at a local motel and between the night before (Friday) and the start of today (Saturday) I was pretty much insane. Too many little problems to discuss here but my boss could tell on the phone that I was close to a nervous breakdown, and this doesn't happen easily for me since I have a lot of experience.

Anyways on normal nights, when its slower I kick back and read manga. Usually have a pretty good pile of reading material. Once and awhile I will use my friend/coworkers computer to go online and do random stuff. 56k connection at work minimizes the fun. Always work to be done, if I get REALLY bored.

I don't think I can ever work again for any job which requires direct contact with customers. I remember working as a hostess in a restaurant and quit after less than two months. The shortest one was with Guess, I quit after two weeks. ^^;; So I didn't have enough time to learn tricks on how to stay sane when working in retail.

I remember this one cute girl at this Taipei department store... had to drag her away from CCS manga. She was hiding it in a binder... Wink

Of course, me looking for socks isn't as important as reading manga...

Let me get this straight, a cute girl, reading manga and you were more interested in socks? Shocked
